Today is a big day for the community industry.

We’re about to kick off something that could change careers, alter business landscapes, and provide you an entirely new arsenal of essential tools. And we’ll need your help to launch it. We need your voice to be heard.

For the past 10 years, we at Leader Networks have conducted considerable research relating to online communities and social business – constructing a powerful suite that spans advanced topics, benchmarks and best practices.  Meanwhile, online communities have moved into the mainstream, with many organizations now running or considering an online community. But too often these communities are left without a safety net – lack the peer support required to produce insights into success factors. In order to correct this issue, we have partnered with CMX Media—founders of the CMX Community Summit—and are gearing up to provide the answers, data and examples you need to kindle your community fire.

Today, we’re kicking off the Online Community Readiness and Growth Survey. This survey will focus on providing community builders the tools they need to launch successful branded online communities, examining such burning questions as:

  • What are the best approaches for selling the community internally and gathering executive support?
  • What should the focus of community strategy and operations be, and what has worked for others?
  • What factors go into choosing the best platform for the execution of community strategy?
  • How do the most successful organizations support community professionals?
  • What technical and tactical pieces need to be in place before launching an online community?

The resulting study will result in an actionable benchmark for any organization that has launched or plans to launch an online community. It will also help you prepare for the launch, or growth, of your organization’s online community, helping you gain stakeholders and resources as you move forward.
